Israel J. Jacobowitz named Professional of the Year in Cardiac Surgery

    NEW YORK, NY, December 23, 2009 /Surgery PR News/ -- Israel J. Jacobowitz, MD, Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Cardiac Surgery. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Specializing in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, Israel J. Jacobowitz is one of the premier cardiovascular physicians on the East Coast. He has participated in clinical trials, introducing innovations to cardiac surgery and presenting at local, national and international meetings. Currently, Dr. Jacobowitz performs surgery and teaches at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and is Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
