Stanford Who's Who welcomes Dr. Justin Peters to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of his extraordinary effort in the Healthcare Industry.
RICHMOND, VIC, AUSTRALIA, May 5, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Dr. Justin Peters to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of his extraordinary effort in the Healthcare Industry. As a Urologist who runs his own private practice at Epworth Hospital, as well as throughout his brilliant 25 plus year career, Dr. Peters has consistently performed at a magnificent level.
Dr. Peters is an experienced urologist specializing in robotic surgery for prostate cancer. He has been a practicing Urologist since 1985 and has particular interest in prostate cancer and urinary stone disease. Dr. Peters is one of the first surgeons to use a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy, known as the da Vinci Surgical System, performed at Epworth Hospital, in Melbourne in December 2003 and has done many since.
The da Vinci Surgical System is powered by state-of-the-art robotic technology. The System allows your surgeon's hand movements to be scaled, filtered and translated into precise movements of micro-instruments within the operative site. This cutting edge technique benefits patients tremendously by reducing hospital stays, reducing post-operative pain, reducing risk of infection, reducing blood loss and transfusions, reducing scarring, and leading to faster recovery.
Dr. Peters is a senior Consultant Urologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He served as Chairman of the Training Accreditation and Education Committee for the Victorian section of the Urological Society of Australasia, from 2001 until end of 2004. He has been a member of the Board of Urology, from 2002 to the end of 2004, and has been Deputy Chairman of the Board, in 2003 and 2004.
During his educational career, Dr. Peters attended Xavier College for his undergraduate studies. He went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1975. From there, Dr. Peters completed his residency at St. Vincent's Hospital in 1983 and a one year fellowship at University of Colorado Health Center shortly after.
