As a Medical Doctor with the Colon and Rectal Center of America for the past 4 years, Dr. Forstner has consistently demonstrated the vision, dedication and diligence necessary to be considered among the best.
Dr. Forstner is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, who has been part of a thriving female colon and rectal practice since returning to the Valley in 2006. She specializes in the treatment of colon, rectal and anal cancer, in particular the laparoscopic or minimally invasive surgical approaches to this disease. Dr. Forstner helped to bring to the valley a revolutionary minimally invasive approach to resection of rectal cancer, called Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery.
During her educational career, Dr. Forstner received training at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale after attending medical school at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and received her specialized surgical training with the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando where she completed her Fellowship.
Dr. Forstner is chair of the Cancer/Oncology committee at Banner Thunderbird Hospital. She is an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. In the time away from her busy schedule, Dr. Forstner greatly enjoys traveling.
